However, it is not always possible that you get the can or bottle cooled down immediately. During such times everyone wishes that there was a way to cool down your drink immediately. Well, believe it or not, there is one way! By using the second law of thermodynamics there is a way to cool down your drink right away. All you need for this are the basic things found in your home! So, let’s get to know the way to cool down your drink in two minutes! (Also read: What are the mistakes one should avoid in case of a burn injury)

Things you need for it

  • Ice
  • Cooking Salt
  • Can or bottle of drink at room temperature.

How to cool your drink in two minutes?

Take a bowl and fill it with water but not to the brim, just one-fourth of the bowl. Add ice cubes to it. Then, sprinkle cooking salt all over the cubes. Then mix them well. Take out the drink you want to cool down. Put it in the mixture of ice and salt. Leave it for 2 minutes. After two minutes, the can or the bottle will show an incredible dip in the temperature.

How does it work?
The working principle behind this entire process is the second law of thermodynamics. The second law of thermodynamics focuses on the quality of the energy. So when you sprinkle the salt on ice cubes they start to melt. Thus, they start seeking the thermal energy to pace the process. As a result, the heat travels from one source to another and your drink loses the heat.
As per the second law of thermodynamics when the energy transitions from one form to another, or matter moves unobstructedly, the disorder in a closed system increases. Which is clearly demonstrated in this way.  (Also read: Body hacks to make your life better and simpler)
