Most of us can’t step out of our home without wearing our sunglasses during summer time. However, we become ignorant of wearing the sunglasses in winters. We all have our own preconceptions about wearing sunglasses. We often forget that Sun emits ultraviolet rays even during winters and we need to protect our eyes from the same. As during winters, we enjoy the warmth of the Sun, however, it equally harms our eyes. We must make a note of the fact, that wearing sunglasses is equally important in winters as it is in summers. Why should one wear sunglasses even during winters?

Prevents the risk of a headache: When extreme light reaches our retina we often complain about having a headache. However, the pupil of the eyes restricts the extreme flow of light to the retina. However, when under the Sun, pupil fails to work efficiently and thus a person faces trouble in looking at things in extreme sunlight. Eventually, they have to squint and restrict the amount of sunlight entering into the eyes. It thus leads to a headache and pain in the eyes. Thus, one should wear sunglasses to prohibit the excess flow of sunlight directly into the eyes.

Protects from harmful rays of the Sun: Too much direct exposure to sunlight might lead to the problem of cataract and macular degeneration. The harmful ultraviolet rays of the Sun often damage the cornea and causes cataract. Sunglasses even prevent the skin around the eyes and also prevents the onset of wrinkles around them.
