Obesity slows down and restricts the process of getting pregnant. Once you plan to conceive, it is advisable to work on your body weight. This will help you to avoid any complications attached with pregnancy. Obesity arises when the Body Mass Index is above 30. On the other hand, the right Body Mass Index is between 18.5 to 25. Thus, a healthy and fit body is must to carry a healthy baby.

How obesity restricts pregnancy?

Obesity hinders the process of ovulation in the female body. It increases the count of estrogen hormones and even disturbs the menstrual cycle. As we know that ovulation is the best time to conceive. The excessive amount of estrogen delays ovulation thus reduces the chances of pregnancy. Thus, the rise in the fatty tissues in the female body creates an obstacle to the unity of sperm and ovum.

Obesity affects pregnancy:
Even if you have conceived being obese, then there will be many complications in carrying that pregnancy. However, those 9 months would be the time you will have to be extra cautious. And you should be aware of the fact that how obesity can turn this happiness the other way round. Obesity leads to miscarriage, diabetes, urinary infections, stillbirth, pre-eclampsia. It could even extend your pregnancy beyond 9 months and cause severe problems during delivery. Due to obesity, the delivery has to take place at early stage leading to the birth of a premature baby.

Obesity is bad:
The human body becomes an easy target for many diseases once our body crosses its limit of body weight. It can welcome many diseases like an increase in cholesterol, diabetes, heart risk and even brings our self-confidence to nil. If you are planning a baby, make sure you do it in a healthy way to avoid any complications.
