What are the causes of pelvic pain during pregnancy

The weight of the fetus lays so much pressure on the nerves running down from vagina to the legs. It makes the movement quite difficult. So, take frequent rests and avoid heavy activities. Braxton Hicks contraction: Braxton Hicks contraction is one of the most common causes of pelvic pain. The sudden pressure and the tightening in the pelvis often give the feeling of contraction down there. It may feel like the labour pain. So, one must drink plenty of water to avoid this situation.

Constipation: Constipation is one of the most common problems during pregnancy. It causes a lot of pain in the pelvis. One can either ask the doctor for stool softener and should drink plenty of water. Besides this, one should also eat a diet rich in fibre.

Urinary tract infection: Even the problem of UTI is quite common during pregnancy. The frequent urge of urination, inflammation while urinating, blood in the urine etc. are some of the most common symptoms of UTI. During pregnancy, the UTI becomes more grave and might also increase the risk of preterm labour. Thus, do not ignore the condition and talk to your doctor as soon as possible.
