Pregnancy calls for a healthy diet.  Hence, for proper care, right amount and a variety of food intake is a must. There can be times during pregnancy when you may not like a specific food product and you tend to hate it but, you are an expecting mother and if that is good for your child, you have to eat it.

Dairy Products:
As grandma says it true- ‘milk is essential for good health’! It is applicable when you are expecting a child too. Milk and milk products like cheese, buttermilk, and yoghurt are essential for both the expecting mother and the baby inside. Soaked Almonds:
You can start your day with soaked almonds. Soak about 6-7 almonds overnight in water and in the morning peel off the skin to eat them. Almonds are rich in protein, vitamin e and are good for the heart.

Fresh fruits and vegetables:
Make it a daily habit of eating fresh fruits and vegetables to keep yourself energetic and strong. Intake of fruits and vegetables gives your body proper nutrition and an appropriate amount of energy which is required while you are pregnant. You must include fruits like apple, oranges, pomegranate and grapes in your daily fruit list plus, green leafy vegetables has to be a part of your diet.

Juices and smoothies:
Drink natural juices of the fruits you like but avoid packaged juices as they are not fresh and has added preservatives which are harmful to consume at this delicate stage. If you are not a juice lover you may try drinking smoothies which are definitely less sugary and more flavorsome.

Eat Fats:
Yes! You read it right. At this phase of life, you can allow yourself to eat fats. Fats give your body energy which is essential in this phase. Gulp small amounts of butter and ‘ghee’ which will prepare your body for labor and delivery.

Drink some delicious soups which you love! You can try out the tomato soup, chicken soup, vegetable soup or any other as per your taste bud. However, try to avoid the packaged soup and prepare a fresh one at home which has more nutritional value. Afterall! It’s not just for taste but for the well-being too!

Drink as much water as you can to keep yourself hydrated every time. You may also add some flavour to your water but make sure there should not be extra sugar quantities as you are supposed to avoid extra sugar.
