Tomatoes are the daily part our diet. From salad to sauces and spices, it holds a huge space in our flooding and dieting supplements. But if you consume tomatoes too much, it would backfire you immediately. There are many health issues are the reason of consuming tomatoes. Highly acidic components are present in tomatoes. Thus, there is a risk of having heartburn and acid reflux immediately after consuming the excess. It has sufficient amount of malic and citric acids which are the primary components of producing gastric acid and food breakdown. Even cooked tomatoes are harmful too if you consume it excessively. Hence, doctors restrict us to have tomatoes while having gastric problems.
Infection and allergies:
Many of us have tomato allergies. Few of us have a general allergy tendency and some get allergies when he or she consumes too much of tomatoes. Skin rashes, breakouts, hives, coughing, sneezing etc. Sometimes, bloated stomach and loose motions are also coming when it is consumed highly. Swelling of the face, mouth, and tongue also occurs. The histamine present in tomatoes can easily release in the tissues. That is why some sort of swelling and joint pains appeared when we eat too much of tomato and tomato processed foods. Also, tomatoes can increase the uric acid in the body. Tooth pain and leg aches are the most primary symptoms when uric acid increases in our body.
Diarrhea can occur by tomato intolerance. As tomatoes are greasy and acidic, one should avoid if he/she is having a tendency of loose motion.
