When the tear glands of your eyes stop producing tears and the eyes are unable to get the proper lubrication then they often turn dry. This may cause inconvenience and pain to the eyes. There are multiple reasons that lead to the dryness of eyes like medical issues and even the environmental issues. Allergy, age, environmental factors, contact lenses and some health issues are few reasons that lead to dryness of eyes. If you work on your laptop for an extended period of time daily, it may cause dryness in the eyes. What are the effective home remedies to get rid of dry eyes?

Rose water: If your eyes are getting dry, then use rose water to keep them hydrated. Rose water contains cooling properties that help to provide relief to the eyes. To do this, pour few drops of rose water in eyes twice or thrice a day.

Potato: Potato has astringent properties that help to get rid of the swelling under the eyes. For this, cut a potato into two pieces and keep them in the refrigerator. Aloe vera: Aloe vera gel has moisturising property. It thus helps to get rid of the problem of dryness in the eyes. Mix some aloe vera gel in water and use the water as an eye wash solution. It will help to keep the eyes hydrated.

Green tea: Green tea helps to get rid of inflammation, dryness in eyes and also reduces the itching. So, boil some water and add 2 bags of green tea in the same. Let the solution cool off. Wash your eyes with the solution. Besides this, keep the used green bags on your eyes. It will help to bring an immediate relief.

Castor oil: To make an eye drop at home, you can use castor oil. Castor oil is used in many medicated eye drops. Pour a little drop of castor oil in both of your eyes. Repeat the process for few weeks for several times in a day. It helps to get rid of the dryness in the eyes and keep them well lubricated.
