Goddess Durga spreads her blessings on her devotees by taking the roop (avatar) of nine different goddesses. Thus, the nine days of Navratri are pure and peaceful. It is the time when the whole atmosphere blazes with positivity and peace. While each day has a different significance according to the Goddess who is being worshipped on that day. Now, that this is the fourth day of Navratri, Goddess Kushmanda is worshipped this day. She is believed to be the creator of the universe. What is the process of offering prayer during Navratri fast?
The devotees worship the Goddess Kushmanda with a pure heart. After watering the Kalash with water, the mantras are chanted. All the major Gods and Goddesses are being remembered and worshipped before taking the name of Goddess Kushmanda. Goddess Durga’s name is enchanted while worshipping Goddess Kushmanda. Surāsampūrṇakalaśaṁ rudhirāplutamēva cha |

What is the significance of the fourth day of Navratri fast?
Kushmanda as the name suggests stands for Ku means little, Usma means warmth and Anda mean universe. In other words, she is the creator of the Universe. She is the fourth form of Goddess Durga. Goddess Kushmanda helps her devotees by eliminating all the negatives and enemies from their life. She is an epitome of freshness and life. Goddess Kushmanda helps to eradicate the darkness from the life of her devotees and shows them the right path. Hence, she is the guide of her followers.
