What is the process of offering prayer during Navratri fast?

What is the significance of the sixth day of Navratri fast?
A famous sage Katyayan was a true devotee of Goddess Durga. In order to please her, he performed great devotion to her. Being impressed by the purity of his dedication, Goddess Durga granted his wish of being born as his daughter. Eventually, Goddess Durga took birth as Goddess Katyayani at the sage’s home. Gradually the torments of demon Mahishasur became intolerable, she took the pain of killing the demon for the welfare of the entire clan. The devotee who worships the Goddess with entire dedication achieves all fruits in life. She epitomises peace and calmness with her divine presence. She also teaches us to take initiative to fight against the odds in life.
