One among the highest paid actresses of the Bollywood, Deepika Padukone admitted that she was struggling hard with depression and anxiety while she was shooting for the movie ‘Happy New Year’. She thought it was stress but one day she fainted due to exhaustion and felt a strange emptiness in her stomach.
Not avoiding the symptoms, she discussed the same with her mother who made her meet a psychologist friend. Initially, Deepika did not admit that she is suffering from some mental health issue and felt that by talking she can overcome these feelings. However, later she went to take a second opinion from a doctor in her hometown and finally accepted her condition. Deepika overcame her anxiety and depression with medications and by speaking out to her mother.
Shahrukh Khan who is known as the ‘King Khan’ of Bollywood has also suffered from the problem of depression. Post his shoulder surgery in 2010 and after the release of Ra. One. Shahrukh admitted that he was depressed for three months after the release of the film. Moreover, when he lost 9 matches in a row, he used to cry by hiding in his bathroom. He felt that he has lost everything.
The threat call to a journalist he made and the Wankhede Stadium incident all made his mind troublesome. Earlier, he used to avoid his depression but later took help from his family and overcame the same.
Known as the brave Bollywood celebrity, Manisha Koirala has set an example for everyone. Successfully fought with Ovarian Cancer, Manisha Koirala opened up about her Clinical Depression on the social media and asked for suggestions. Post her divorce from her ex-husband and while suffering from the disease, Manisha has gone through very hard phases of life.
