How do loneliness and isolation affect the mental health of a person

With the interference of social media in the life of people, it has majorly made them lonely. It has made them escape from the world easily but on the same hand affected the mental balance of a person. Everyone in the world becomes the victim of loneliness once in life. The effects of an isolated mind are worst than being physically unfit. It is surprising to know that the harm which loneliness does to a body are worst than what obesity does to the body. Being disassociating oneself from the rest of world and finding a shade in resolution makes a person weak.

It’s true that in this fast pacing life, no one has time to stop and bother about someone. Thus, people usually take a step back and disassociate themselves. Here are few ways in which loneliness affect the mental health of a person:

Pains like a physical wound: Loneliness leads to a painful experience. It usually makes the person fall into the trap of alienation. This emotional pain is equal to the physical pain. It is important to have a family or community to associate oneself. The missing of this social circle often leads the person to despair. Thus, it is essential to have a support and someone in life.

Leads to high risk of heart disease: Too much-overthinking leads to excess inflammation in the body. It leads to damage in the tissues and leads to increase the rate of heart disease. Reduce the life expectancy: No matter if this isolation is temporary, it may lead to reducing the life expectancy.It may result in premature death, as it even leads to higher risk of cardiovascular diseases. People who have family or friends around are more happy and lively in comparison to the ones living alone in isolation.

Leads to depression: Excess loneliness and distancing yourself from others make you fall into the trap of depression. It leads to making the person vulnerable and also causes them fall into the ocean of sorrow. They gradually tend to lose memory. A feeling of being lonely in the world is worse than anything.

Leads to sleeping disorder: Overthinking and dissolution lead to erasing of sleep. For a short period of time, it is not harmful. But in long run, you lose the sleeping pattern and thus it ultimately make you mentally unhealthy. It is mandatory for a normal human body to sleep for 7-8 hours in a day.
