Eyes are the precious organ of the human body, so we should take proper care of our eyes. However, due to the busy schedule majority of people forget to take care of the eyes. But don’t worry, now you can improve your eyesight without visiting an ophthalmologist or without using contact lenses and glasses. As we all know yoga is very beneficial for the overall health, similarly yoga provides series of exercises to improve the eyesight and eye- related issues.
Here are some yoga exercises to improve eyesight:
As we know stretching warm up is important for all sort of exercises. It helps to reduce the risk of the aches and pains. To practice this exercise look straight ahead and look all the way up count 2 seconds, then look all the way down. count 2 seconds. Then look to the extreme left. Repeat and look to the extreme right. Now you have to move your eyes to the four diagonal corners. After this, you may feel a stretch in your eyes which is a good sign.
To practice this exercise, sit peacefully with closed eyes and take a deep breath to relax. Following the sitting position, rub the palms until they become warm and then place gently over your eye lids. Continue till the heat from the hands completely absorbed by the eyes. For best results repeat the process at least three times.
Blink is also very effective exercise to improve the health of eyes. To practice this exercise, sit comfortably and blink your eyes around 10 times very quickly. Then close your eyes and relax for 20 minutes. For better results practice this exercise about 5 times.
This eye yoga exercise activates the eye muscles. To practice, this exercise holds something with small letters at your reading distance. Cover one of your eyes with your hand and then keep the covered eye open to avoid fatigue. Following this trace the shape of any small letter for two to three seconds. For better results repeat this steps 3 or 4 time.
To practice this exercise, sit with legs straight in front of your body. Place the left hand on the left knee. Hold the right fist above the right knee and keep the elbow straight. Now keeping the head still, focus your eyes on the thumb. The following makes a circle with the thumb, keeping the elbow straight. Repeat this exercise five times each in clockwise and anti-clockwise direction.
