
PM Modi Fitness Challenge: PM practicing yoga.
Accepting Indian Cricket Captain, Virat Kohli’s fitness challenge #HumFitTohIndiaFit, PM posted a two-minute long video showing him stretching and doing various yoga poses.
PM Narendra Modi is known to practice yoga regularly. Yoga is beneficial for overall health. Practising yoga improves flexibility, relieves back pain and provides energy to perform daily tasks. Apart from yoga, PM Modi also performs a number of exercises like breathing exercise, which improves the body’s immunity, relaxes the body, clears windpipe, relieves stress and also delivers several other benefits. (Also read: Benefits of breathing meditation and how it is performed)
Moreover, in the video, 67-year-old PM Modi can be seen walking on a track which he said was inspired by the five elements of nature.
“Apart from Yoga, I walk on a track inspired by the Panchtatvas or 5 elements of nature – Prithvi, Jal, Agni, Vayu, Aakash. This is extremely refreshing and rejuvenating,” he wrote in a message accompanying the video.

PM Narendra Modi, had promised to share his own fitness challenge video after he accepted Kohli’s fitness challenge last month.
Kohli challenged PM Modi, cricketer MS Dhoni and actor Anushka Sharma. The fitness challenge was a part of sports minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore’s #HumFitTohIndiaFit campaign on Twitter.

Prime Minister now nominated the newly elected Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy to undertake the fitness challenge. He has also nominated tennis player Manika Batra, and the entire fraternity of IPS officers to undertake the challenge. You can also read this article in Hindi.
